We popped in here for fish and chips based on the reviews. The fish was delicious with a nice crunchy batter, however the chips needed to be fried for much longer. They were pale, flavourless and starchy.

Passed by this fish and chips shop and thought we'd buy as this was already mid-afternoon and we haven't had lunch. Glad we did as it was incredibly delicious. The large cod was ... true to its word, large. The crispy batter was superb. We sat in front of the harbour and had the perfect meal, under close eyes of the seagulls.

We live abroad so went a bit overboard with the fish and chips having come to the coast. Visited 4 of the the top rated chippies across Porthleven and Heston. Hands and shoulders the best fish and chips and possibly the nicest haddock I have ever eaten..

I’m a fussy one for decent chips and a chunky thick fish. I had perfect chips, a thick flakey piece fish that was moist which you could break a piece off and pick up with a fork. Good curry sauce and mushy peas how they should be (not runny or bright green like paint). That good I went twice in 24 hrs and missed out going for an Ann’s pasty (which I’m told are excellent)

I'm so glad I chose proper chippy fish n chips for last night of my hols and ignored previous reviews. I was staying in a cottage with fabulous views, the sun had come out and having been good most of the week, I really wanted proper fish n chips in my secret garden, views, sunset, sound of the ocean. So I ignored other reviews and got myself haddock & chips and walked back to my paradise. They were perfect!!! Almost best fish n chips I've had. Hot, crispy, fresh, juicy, tasty haddock, lovely crispy chips soft in the middle and perfect application of salt and vinegar I noticed staff were doing when preparing orders (lashings of vinegar, then salt). Lots of people coming in for orders but no queues and fish cooked fresh to order! Banging! And made my week. I'll definitely be back!
